ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä's overnight warming center to activate with sub-20 degree temps

When temperatures drop below 20 degrees, the overnight shelter will open at the SHOP at Bream Memorial Presbyterian Church, 319 Washington St. W., which provides services to the unsheltered community during the day.

There’s space for 75 people to spend the night, but Strickland said more room could be found, if needed.

Daytime warming stations are at:

• Manna Meal, 422 Dickinson St., 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day
• Kanawha Valley Collective, 1015 Smith St., 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
• Bream SHOP, 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

How to help

Training for those looking to volunteer at a shelter will be held on Dec. 12 and Dec. 17. Reach out to the Kanawha Valley Collective on Facebook for more information.

Donations of blankets, coats, handwarmers, gloves and coffee are accepted at the Kanawha Valley Collective, SHOP at Bream or the United Way, 1 United Way Square.
