“United For GOOD†was the United Way of Central West Virginia’s theme for its 16th year matching volunteers with service projects.
On Sept. 15, more than 600 individuals representing more than 70 businesses and organizations worked in five counties. Fifty-eight, onsite projects were undertaken. More than 150 individuals participated in virtual projects, such as baby supply collection, pet supply collection, food collection and the creation of literacy kits.
The United Way Day of Caring is the largest one-day volunteer event in central West Virginia. The event has grown since 2006 when 26 teams worked on 30 projects. That year, 230 volunteers participated.
