As of Saturday morning, Monday’s weather forecast for ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä includes a 30% chance of showers before 10 a.m., and partly sunny in the afternoon with a high of 74.

“It does not look great,â€� said John Peck, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä.

Viewing the solar eclipse — which is expected to have maximum coverage of 92.8% at 3:13 p.m. in ÂÒÂ×ÄÚÉä — could be impacted by the clouds. But Peck said the forecast could change over the weekend.

“Expect 60% sky cover, although it might be clearing. It’s several days away and it could change,� Peck said on Friday.

With the temperature around the time of the eclipse in the mid 70s, Peck said, it could drop 5-8 degrees during the eclipse as the moon passes in front of the sun, shielding the sun’s rays from Earth.

“The more cloud cover we have the less [the temperatures will drop],� Peck said.
