Demolition began Friday on the concrete grandstand and press box at East Bank Middle School's Calvert Field, months after it was condemned as unsafe by officials from Kanawha County Schools.

After an outcry by community members to allow teams to continue using the field, the East Bank Middle School football team will use the field for sports events this fall as soon as temporary facilities are installed there.
According to Briana Warner, communications director for Kanawha County Schools, the temporary facilities will include:
