Former Reds' All-Star George Foster to head Nitro Little League celebration April 5

The city of Nitro will celebrate the opening of Little League season on Saturday, April 5. The festivities kick off at 11 a.m. with a parade featuring the local Little League teams. Leading the parade will be former Cincinnati Reds great, George Foster. Foster will not only lead the parade but will also have the honor of throwing out the season’s first pitch, marking the official start of the Little League season.

Following the parade, fans can head to Nitro High School for the Nitro Baseball Card show, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event offers an opportunity to meet Foster in person, as he will be signing autographs from noon to 2 p.m. As the first man ever to hit 50 home runs in a season for the Reds, Foster’s presence is sure to draw a crowd.
