Fees for the hikes are $7 for adults, $2 for those 12 to 18 years old, with no fee charged for under-12 accompanied hikers. The hikes are expected to last about three hours.

This fall’s lineup of walks includes:

• Trees, Wildflowers and Birds, over easy to moderate terrain on Polly Hollow Trail
• Geology and Birds, over moderate terrain on Polly Hollow, Beech Glen and Wildcat trails
• Exercise Hike, over moderate to challenging terrain on Snipe, Mossy Rock, Middle Ridge and Alligator trails
• Tree Identification, over easy terrain over Shrewsbury Hollow Trail and through the Kanawha State Forest Arboretum
• Children’s Hike, over easy terrain on Davis Creek Trail
• Insects and Other Arthropods, over easy terrain around the Nature Center

Fees from the nature walks program benefit the Kanawha State Forest Foundation and improvements to the forest.
