You can mail your application to the Secretary of State’s Office at Bldg. 1, Suite 157-K 1900 Kanawha Blvd. E.
If you’re a resident of Kanawha County, you can mail it to the Kanawha County Clerk’s Office, 415 Virginia St. E.
As we approach the registration deadline, registering at your county clerk’s office will ensure that your application is processed in time, but in-person registration for Kanawha County residents also is available at the following locations:
Driver’s license offices
Public assistance agencies
Agencies that serve people with disabilities
Marriage license offices
Military recruiting offices
Proof of residence
You need proof of residence to register to vote. Some accepted forms of proof are:
West Virginia driver’s license
Utility bill
Bank statement
Government-issued documents
Registered voters who have moved or changed their name since the last election should update their voter registration.
Absentee ballot applications will be accepted until May 8 and also can be found at .
Hand-delivered absentee ballots must be given to the County Clerk’s Office by May 13, but mailed-in absentee ballots that are postmarked by May 14 will be accepted through May 20.

Early voting is available at the following locations in Kanawha County from May 1-11. These locations are open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.:
